The Zone 1 Junior Premierships is a non-qualifying tournament for students in Year 9 & 10 ONLY, which aims to introduce players to a secondary school tournament atmosphere.

The tournament has two grades per gender, Premier Grade & Open Grade. The Premier Grade is for schools wanting a competitive tournament environment & the Open Grade is for those wanting a more relaxed tournament experience. Teams may only enter 1 team per gender into either the premier or open grade, but not both.

The Zone 1 Junior Premierships is for schools in the Top of North Island, from Northland and Auckland.
