The ‘AA’ Premierships are qualifying tournaments for schools who wish to qualify for the Secondary School Nationals to be held in the October School Holidays. There are separate tournaments for both genders.

‘AA’ Premierships are tournaments for larger secondary schools. Schools should have a roll of more than 300 students (in Years 9-13) for a single sex schools, or more than 600 students (in Years 9-13) for a co-ed school. ‘A’ Schools can attend the ‘AA’ Premierships if they choose to, but have to commit to ‘AA’ for the whole season. Schools cannot play in a ‘AA’ premierships and then switch to ‘A’ for Nationals.

The ‘AA’ Zone 4 Premiership is for schools in the South Island.
