The ‘AA’ Secondary School Nationals is the pinnacle tournament for Secondary Schools across New Zealand. The ‘AA’ Nationals is for those schools who qualified by attending their respective ‘AA’ Premiership Tournaments and placing in one of the qualifying spots available.

There are 24 spots available per gender, with 7 boys & 6 girls teams qualifying from the ‘AA’ Zone 1, 5 boys & 6 girls teams qualifying from the ‘AA’ Zone 2, and 6 per gender from both the ‘AA’ Zone 3 & 4 Premierships.
