The ‘A’ North Island Premierships is a qualifying tournament for the ‘A’ Secondary School Nationals held during the October School Holidays. There are separate tournaments for both genders.

The ‘A’ Premierships are tournaments for smaller secondary schools around the country. These schools must have a roll of less than 300 students (in Years 9-13) for a single sex school, or less than 600 students (in Year 9-13) for a co-ed school.

The ‘A’ North Island Premierships are open to any secondary schools who fit this criteria within the North Island.
