The National Scholastic Surfing Championships are the pinnacle of junior surfing in New Zealand. The annual event is held at a different location each year. Unique to the event is the fact that surfers have to qualify to compete as part of twelve regional teams. The event is held over five days and crowns an overall team winner plus individual winners in each of the following age groups:

Under 18 Boys and Girls Divisions
Under 16 Boys and Girls Divisions
Under 14 Boys and Girls Divisions
Under 18 Boys and Girls Longboard Division
