Makos Zonal Secondary School Open Water Swimming Championships
February 24
The 2024 Makos Zonal Secondary School Open Water Swimming Championships is held on 24 February in Akaroa and is a great opportunity for students to get involved in open water swimming. Swimming NZ is proud to partner with the popular Banana Boat NZ Ocean Swim Series, as this event is held in conjunction with the Blue70 La Grande Swim as part of that series.
There are distances that cater for everyone, with the 2000m swim for those interested in giving it a go, and the 5km for those more experienced or wanting to challenge themselves. It’s also a great preparation for those swimming at the national event in Rotorua on 16 March.
Entries close on Sunday 3 March.
